Helping you to make sense of things and thoughts that are troubling you

Are you feeling overwhelmed, lost, sad, fearful, anxious, angry? You might have a clear idea of what you want to talk about, or not know where to start. Together, in a confidential setting, we'll explore and make sense of things you might not want or feel able to share elsewhere. Counselling isn't about me telling you what to do. You won't be given answers, although I'll listen carefully to you so I can offer insights and perspectives. I won't judge you, your thoughts, or how you live your life.

About me and my practice

With over ten years experience, and specialist training to work therapeutically with clients online, I work with individuals right across the lifespan, helping you navigate the challenges you are facing in life, whatever phase that might be.

I provide space to explore what's going on in your life, helping make sense of your thoughts, feelings and actions.

Sometimes this includes us examining your past and how this might be impacting you now or moving forward.

I'm able to cherry pick from different therapeutic approaches and models to suit your needs. The pace at which things unfold is up to you.

Recent bereavement, work related stress, relationship issues, low mood, worries, anxiety, a health condition or ill health of others, can all impact our ability to get on with and enjoy life.

You may have been considering issues for longer. Identity, loneliness, loss, self-esteem, ageing or changing life stages, sexuality, gender identity or unexpressed grief, can all affect us even if weve not yet acknowledged them.

Experience

Having chosen to specialise in loss and grief in 2012 I am accredited by the bereavement support agency, Cruse.

I have worked as a sessional counsellor for Mind, helping clients facing anxiety and depression as well as more complex mental health issues.

Supporting younger people in schools, higher education and university settings I appreciate how challenging life is for younger people. I'm able to offer space and time for you to express and explore pressures, worries, hopes and fears.

Working right across the lifespan I enjoy supporting older adults looking to make sense of later life as they approach, plan or reach retirement.

My other special interests include working with those who identify as gender, sexuality and relationship diverse or wish to explore such possibilities. As well as those who simply want help navigating relationships.

Additional Information

I undergo regular supervision and training, in order to keep my practise safe, ethical, relevant; and as effective as possible.
